SSV Awards
The School Sport Victoria (SSV) Awards celebrate the incredible achievements of our coordinators, schools, teachers, and volunteers. These awards highlight the people who go above and beyond to provide high-quality sporting opportunities for Victorian students. Our winners are role models and leaders who demonstrate that sport is for everyone.
SSV's purpose is to develop young people through school sport and support schools to maximise opportunities for every student to play. By recognising excellence, we champion the value of school sport and help connect our schools with the wider community.
SSV recognise the work, service, and commitment of those who make school sport possible. Our awards are divided into 12 categories to ensure every contribution is valued.

- SSV Region Coordinator of the Year (Primary and Secondary combined)
- SSV Division Coordinator of the Year (Primary and Secondary)
- SSV District Coordinator of the Year (Primary only)
- SSV School Sport Coordinator of the Year (Primary and Secondary)

- Team Vic Team of the Year
- Team Vic Coach of the Year
- Team Vic Manager of the Year
- Team Vic Volunteer of the Year

- SSV Service Award (10 and 20 year awards)

Nomination Guidelines and Eligibility
To ensure fairness and maintain high standards, all nominees must follow our community values of respect, integrity, and leadership.
Who can nominate?
Nominations must be submitted by one of the following:
- School Principals
- Teachers or school staff members
- SSV coordinators or staff
- Team Vic officials
- Local sports club or State Sporting Organisation representatives
Please note that we cannot consider nominations from parents or family members. All nominations must have the endorsement of the student's school Principal.
Core Requirements
- Inclusivity: We support opportunities for all students, including mainstream and multiclass participants.
- Conduct: All nominees must follow the School Sport Victoria's Code of Conduct and School Sport Australia Codes of Conduct.
- Eligibility: Nominees must be a government school student, teacher, or staff member during the year of nomination.
- Achievement: Sporting success should generally be at a State, National, or International level.

SSV Coordinator Awards
Our SSV Coordinators are the backbone of school sport. They work hard at every level of the sporting pathway to organise high-quality events that help students stay active and connected. By working closely with others in their region, they ensure every competition is a success.

- Region Coordinator

Nomination Rules
To keep our awards fair and celebratory, please remember:
- Coordinators cannot nominate themselves for individual awards.
- We highly encourage coordinators to nominate their colleagues to celebrate their achievements and hard work.

Spirit of Sport Award
This award is for member schools that show the best attitude at SSV State Finals. We look for schools that celebrate others and create an inclusive environment.
- Spirit: Positive attitude and a love of sport.
- Respect: Treating opponents, officials, and spectators with care.
- Integrity: Fair play and honesty.
- Leadership: Supporting teammates and setting a great example.

Team Vic Team, Official, and Volunteer of the Year
These awards celebrate the dedicated leaders behind our Team Vic Teams. We recognise officials who perform at a high level and help students appreciate important community values through their sporting journey.
Our winners demonstrate outstanding leadership. They ensure every team member has the opportunity to participate and they work hard to build strong partnerships between schools and the community.
Who We Celebrate

- Team of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Manager of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year
Nomination Requirements
To help our assessment panel, please ensure your nomination includes:
- Clear Evidence: Provide details of the official's achievements and leadership.
- Educational Approach: Highlight how they help students develop community values.
- Participation: Show how they maximised opportunities for all team members, including mainstream and multiclass students.
Important Rules
- Team officials cannot self-nominate for individual awards.
- Officials are encouraged to nominate their team for the Team of the Year award.

Service and Life Membership
- Service Awards: For registered teachers who have served 10 or 20 years as a sports coordinator or committee member.
- Recognition Awards: For individuals who have made a significant contribution to school sport, even if they are not associated with an SSV school.
- Life Membership: Our highest honour. It recognises exceptional leadership and advocacy that goes above and beyond a person’s normal role to shape the future of SSV.
Nominate a someone for a Service Award
How SSV Choose Winners
Once nominations close, the Chief Executive Officer forms a five-member panel to assess every entry. This panel recommends winners for final review and ratification. The decision of the panel is final.
