  The registration dates for each sport can be found on the Team Vic Sport and Registrations Key Dates page.

  Before registering, students and families should talk with their school Principal or PE teacher. This makes sure only students ready for a competitive, representative pathway register to trial. Team Vic trials aren’t a come-and-try session, and they’re not designed to prepare students for next year.

  Registration information for teams will be published closer to the time of registrations opening through the SSV website and may be published on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram, and the SSV ENews.

  Please note the following:

  • A fee of $35.00 applies to each trial registration
  • There is no late registration period for any sport in 2026
  • It is the responsibility of the student, parent, or carer to check the SSV website for opening and closing dates for registrations
  • The registration opening and closing dates will differ for each team
  • Registration confirmation will come from Gameday and not SSV

• Student Endorsement Process

  For certain sports, students must follow a specific Student Endorsement process. Please review the requirements for the following teams:

  • Australian Football: 12 Years and Under Boys
  • Basketball: 12 Years and Under Girls and Boys
  • Cricket: 12 Years and Under Boys
  • Football (Soccer): 12 Years and Under Boys
  • Netball: 12 Years and Under Girls

  Both SSV and SSA have Codes of Conduct to ensure a positive experience throughout the trial process and Championship events. Read these policies before you register - School Sport Victoria Code of Conduct and School Sport Australia Code of Conduct. 

• Trial Progression and Team Announcement

  Trialists will generally hear whether they have progressed to the next selection stage within a week of the trial(s) concluding. If it has been more than a week and you have not received notification, please contact a member of the Team Vic staff at SSV.

  A request to not attend one stage of the trial may be submitted if the situation meets the criteria: Team Vic Trial Exception Policy

  Team Vic teams will be provisionally announced via the SSV website generally within 7 business days of the final trial. Team selection is provisional until the following conditions are met:

  • All required documentation is returned to the team manager
  • School Principals endorse their student’s participation in the SSA Championships as a representative of their school
  • Any non-selection appeals have been received and resolved

• Multiclass Information

  Team Vic offers Multiclass opportunities for students interested in aquathlon, cross country, swimming, track and field, and triathlon. More information is available on the Multiclass page on the School Sport Victoria website. 

• Student Leadership Opportunities

• Participation Costs

  Participation in SSV Team Vic representative teams is fully self-funded. Team members will need to cover all costs associated with the program.

  • Costs Include: Host state and administration levies, training and team equipment costs, uniform, transport, accommodation, and meals.
  • Approximate Cost: The cost of the SSA Championships host state and administration levies and Team Vic uniform is approximately $1400.00 per student.

  All costs associated with travel, accommodation and meals for a student and parent or carer will be in addition to the costs above. These costs will vary and depend upon the location and timing of the Championship and are the responsibility of the parent or carer.

  Please note: A parent or carer is required to travel with their child to the SSA Championship and be primarily responsible for the supervision of their child outside of official SSA Championship activities.

• Financial Assistance

  Expand Financial Assistance

  Australian Sports Foundation: Provides an online platform to assist with the costs of participating in the SSA Championships. The platform enables prospective sponsors, schools, community clubs, families and friends to assist with your fundraising efforts.

  Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund: Grants $1000.00 scholarships to emerging athletes facing financial hardship. Athletes aged 10 to 18 years old who have been selected to represent their state, territory or Australia are eligible to apply on their website.
