Join School Sport Victoria

At School Sport Victoria (SSV) we enable students to play sport, champion the value of school sport, and connect school and community sport. We deliver programs to primary and secondary students across Victoria, supporting schools to provide as many school sporting opportunities as possible.
When your school joins SSV, you become part of a community of over 2,700 member schools. SSV membership provides school opportunities to:
- Access for students to represent the school in a range of interschool sports.
- Pathways for talented students to represent Victoria through Team Vic at School Sport Australia Championships.
- Pathways in multiclass events for students of all abilities in swimming, cross country, and track and field.
- Access to the Victorian Teachers' Games for staff connection and wellbeing.
- Access to regular SSV News to keep up to date with school sport in Victoria.
- Eligibility for the school to nominate students to volunteer at SSV Championship events.
- Leadership roles for teachers, including SSV Coordinator and Team Vic Officials roles.
- Access to professional development provided by SSV or partners.
We offer three levels of membership to ensure every student has a chance to play:
- Full Members: Open to all Victorian Government schools.
- Associate Members: Open to non-government schools.
- Affiliate Members: Open to non-government secondary schools.

Applying to join SSV is a collaborative process to ensure the best outcome for your students and the local school sporting primary, district or secondary division.
Stage
What happens
1. Application
Schools submit an online form detailing their school details.
2. Consultation
SSV speaks with local primary district or secondary division to confirm capacity and suitability.
3. Decision
The SSV CEO reviews the application to confirm that the membership can be supported.
4. Outcome
The relevant district or division coordinator is notified and the school receives a written notification and is to accept shared responsibility for attending meetings and organising local school sport.
