School Sport Victoria (SSV) provides an inclusive and exciting basketball program for students across the state. Whether you are competing with your school or aiming to represent Victoria on the national stage, there are opportunities for everyone to play, connect, and excel.
School Sport Victoria (SSV) offers Basketball interschool sport programs for both primary and secondary school.
Competition Pathway
How far can your school team go? In the primary pathway school teams can progress from matches with local schools through to the State Final:
District > Division > Region > State
And for secondary schools, the pathway allows progression through three levels:
Division > Region > State
Basketball competitions are available in the following categories for girls, and boys/mixed teams:
Age Groups
Schools can enter basketball teams in the following age groups:
- Primary: Girls and Boys/Mixed.
- Year 7: Girls and Boys/Mixed.
- Year 8: Girls and Boys/Mixed.
- Intermediate (Years 9 and 10): Girls and Boys/Mixed.
- Senior (Years 11 and 12): Girls and Boys/Mixed.
