The 2024 SSV State Swimming Championships are being held as a combined Primary and Secondary event on the same day on Friday, 19 April. 


Not sure what to expect when you arrive at the State Swimming Championships? This video gives a behind-the-scenes look at the various stages all athletes go through from arriving to competing.


 


All Event times are indicative only. This event information is indicative only and subject to change.

The seeded combined Secondary and Primary State Championships meet program with competitors listed is now available within the Event Calendar listing. Please also make sure you read this important information announcement covering lots of details about the event.  

Please note that within the State Swimming Championships event calendar listing you can also find the Swimming Program and Records - Event Nos. & indicative start times by stroke. 

Please note that marshalling will be via the Marshalling Room &  placegetters are expected to wear a school top for presentations.

The program consists of individual events in each of the four major swimming strokes, also freestyle relay events for each age group and medley relay races in a smaller number of age groups.​

All State events are listed prior to the date of the event in the Event Calendar located on the right hand side panel. Each event will contain the venue, convenor, rules, information, draws/schedule & results. Results can be accessed post event by using the State Results link or by going to the State Event Calendar Section & selecting the date of the event.

This can cause severe congestion and therefore become a safety issue when vehicles cannot get in or out of the car parks and other surrounding areas. Please see the <a href="https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/state/Documents/MSAC%20Bus%20Guide.png" target="_blank">MSAC School Bus Guide</a> outlining where the buses may drop off and park, as well as a safe pathway for students to walk to the entrances. There are two drop off points, where buses may also park.</p><p><strong>Bus Drop off AND Bus Parking – Canterbury Road</strong></p><p><strong>Bus Drop off AND Bus Parking – Aughtie Drive</strong></p><p>Please ensure this is communicated to your bus drivers.</p><p>If a bus does not use the allocated drop off points and parking areas, the school will then be charged a bus parking fee by Melbourne Sports Centres.<br></p></div>
Important Information - SSV State Swimming Championships 86{8ba673e6-5df2-4c0c-bf92-30ef694098d0}Important Information - SSV State Swimming Championships 11/04/2023 7:09:50 AM<div class="ExternalClassAFD763A36AA642629C0853869B8C20DF"><p>Congratulations on qualifying for the SSV State Swimming Championships.</p><p>See below for important information for <strong>all</strong> persons attending the upcoming SSV State Combined Primary & Secondary Swimming Championships in the Outdoor Pool at the Melbourne Sports Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Aughtie Drive, Albert Park – <a href="https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/state/events/pages/event.aspx?listID=%7ba7bbf073-ab7e-41f6-80f7-8a9f895842de%7d&ListItemID=11" target="_blank">Friday, April 19 </a>- see the date link to go to the event calendar for the rules, program of events & records & for <a href="https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/state/Pages/StateResults.aspx" target="_blank">Results</a><br></p><p><strong>Social Distancing & Masks</strong></p><p>Remember it is suggested to have a mask with you in the event that you cannot socially distance 1.5m.</p><p>All entry & exit is via the Outdoor pool entry. Access to MSAC Aquatics is through the <strong>Aquatics Reception</strong>, across from the Multi-Deck Carpark & also opposite Sports House.</p><p><strong>Doors Open</strong></p><p>The doors will not open until 9:00am. <br></p><p><strong>Cost of entry</strong></p><p>The Entry fee is $5 for adult spectators. Competitors, Children and Teachers (with a V.I.T. card or School ID) will be admitted free</p><p><strong>Car Parking</strong></p><p>There is metered parking in the Lakeside Car Park and Albert Drive. The costs are approx. $5.20/hour or All Day parking costs $15.00. Alternatively, car parking at MSAC (multi story & southern car parks) is free for the first hour, then approx. $5.20 per hour or part thereof. Please note that information is correct at the time of printing. The indoor pool is accessible from the mezzanine foyer.<br></p><p><strong>Marshalling</strong></p><p>Marshalling for all swimmers will be via the marshal room. Swimmers will access the marshal room by exiting the grandstand down to the ground floor & proceed to the marshal room. Report to the Marshals. Once marshalled, swimmers will sit in rows of seating & then be escorted out to sit behind the lanes the swimmers are racing in. Swimmers only in the marshal area.
