Golf is played at both Primary and Secondary school levels in the School Sport Victoria interschool program.
Primary students must be in grades 3, 4, 5 or 6 in a school affiliated with School Sport Victoria. In the qualifying rounds students will play 9 holes on a short course, players will be notified of their progression to the state finals by Golf Victoria. Students who qualify for the SSV State final will Play 18 holes on a shortened course. The Team Vic 12 and Under State Team will be selected from an 18 hole stroke event Selection Trial.
Junior Secondary (Years 7-9) and Senior Secondary (Years 10-12) - students will play 18 holes of stroke play, a handicap is required to participate. Students can progress from a Division Qualifying event to either the Junior or the Senior SSV State Final. Players will be notified of their progression to the SSV State Final by Golf Australia. The State Final format is 18 holes of stroke play. Participating students have the opportunity to be invited to play in the All Schools Final which will be the selection trial for the 18 Years and Under Team Vic Team.
