Golf is played at both Primary and Secondary school levels in the School Sport Victoria interschool program. Primary students must be in grades 3, 4, 5 or 6 in a school affiliated with School Sport Victoria. In the qualifying rounds students will play 9 holes on a short course, players will be notified of their progression to the state finals by Golf Victoria. Students who qualify for the SSV State final will Play 18 holes on a shortened course.
Junior Secondary (Years 7-9) and Senior Secondary (Years 10-12) - students will play 9 holes modified stroke on a short course, a handicap is not required to participate. Students can progress from Division Qualifying events to the SSV State Final. Players will be notified of their progression to the SSV State Final by Golf Victoria. The State final format is 18 holes. Participating students have the opportunity to be considered for selection in the 17 Years and Under Team Vic Team. Sport Sub Committee operates for Golf. The purpose of the sport specific committee is to be a conduit between schools and State Sporting Organisations (SSO) to deliver a quality school sport program and in turn, improve the quality of SSO programs.
