Diving
School Sport Victoria (SSV) provides students from member schools with the opportunity to develop their diving skills and compete at a high level. These programs focus on skill development, safety, and providing a clear pathway from local regions to state-wide competition.
Do you have a student interested in competing in diving? SSV offers separate competitions for boys and girls across both primary and secondary levels. These championships are exclusively for students attending SSV full and associate member schools.
Age Groups
- Primary: 9 to 10 years and 11 to 12 years.
- Secondary: 13 to 14 years, 15 to 16 years, and 17 to 20 years.
Region and State Championships
SSV conducts both region and state competitions on a single day to make participation easier for families and schools.
- Morning Session: Region events take place.
- Afternoon Session: State Championships occur.
- Qualification: To compete in the State Championships, students must first participate in their designated region event on the same day.
Support for New Divers
Are you supporting a student who is new to the sport? SSV partners with Diving Victoria to host coaching clinics early on the morning of the championships. Inexperienced divers must attend these clinics to ensure they have the necessary skills and safety knowledge before the region events begin.
