Competition Pathway

Primary School

Primary students participate in the Cricket Blast (Super 8s) format. This fast-paced version of the game ensures every student gets a turn to bat, bowl, and field.

Secondary School

Secondary students generally play the T20 format following Cricket Australia's Junior Cricket Formats.

Year 7 and 8 Variations: Local divisions may choose to use the Cricket Blast format (8 overs a side) for Year 7 and 8 teams to maximise participation.

• Region and State Level: Please note that all Region and State competitions follow the standard T20 match-day rules.

Age Groups

Schools can enter cricket teams in the following age groups:

• Primary: Girls and Boys/Mixed.
• Year 7: Girls and Boys/Mixed.
• Year 8: Girls and Boys/Mixed.
• Intermediate (Years 9 and 10): Girls and Boys/Mixed.
• Senior (Years 11 and 12): Girls and Boys/Mixed.
