School Sport Victoria has partnered with the YMCA Action Sports Team to provide a free SSV All Aboard Skateboarding incursion at your school as part of SSV Play.
What is SSV Aboard Skateboarding?
SSV All Aboard Skateboarding is an introductory skateboarding program. Sessions are led by experienced YMCA instructors who create a fun learning environment. that will provide students with the opportunity to build confidence and learn skills in skateboarding.
Sessions are designed to be fun and have a social, non-competitive focus. The activities will be tailored for primary and secondary students and will be inclusive of students from all backgrounds, genders, and abilities.
SSV All Aboard Skateboarding will be delivered as a one-day incursion for 100 students. This includes four one-hour sessions with 25 students able to participate in each session.
How many students can participate?
If you are a smaller school and do not have 100 students, please consider if you can partner with another nearby school to meet this requirement. Alternatively, you can apply for Diversity Dash where no minimum student limits apply.
If you have more than 100 students, consider selecting specific classes within your school that might benefit most and fit the 100-student maximum.
This program is best suited for students in later primary school year levels and above.
When can we participate in SSV Aboard Skateboarding?
SSV All Aboard Skateboarding will be available across all terms in 2023. Spaces are limited so get your expression of interest in early to ensure your school is considered for selection.
Where is SSV Aboard Skateboarding delivered?
SSV All Aboard Skateboarding will be delivered at your school in your school gym, schoolyard, or any other space that works.
