Team Composition: A team consists of four students (boys, girls, or mixed). Schools may submit multiple teams at the Region level.
Match Format: A 4-player event consisting of two games of bowling.
Scoring: The final score is the combined pinfall total of both games. All scoring is off-scratch (no handicaps).
Bumpers: Available for Primary School competitions only; not available for Secondary School competitions.
Eligibility: Primary School competition is recommended for students in Year 4 and above.
Match/Round Robin: Winners are determined by the team with the highest number of wins. If teams are tied on match wins:
Winner of the head-to-head match.
Highest score in the second game.
Percentage of scores from all round-robin matches.
Highest individual score from a team member.
Finals: In the event of a tie in a semi-final or final, the team with the highest score in the second game is declared the winner.
Substitution: No substitutions are permitted once the competition begins.
Binding Participation: The competition level selected by a student at the Division level remains binding through to Region and State levels.
Conduct: All participants, teachers, and spectators are bound by the SSV Codes of Conduct.
First Aid: Competing schools are responsible for providing their own first aid kits.
Strapping: Schools must supply their own sports tape. Injury prevention strapping must be performed by the school team, as the First Aid Responder attending the state finals is not permitted to perform strapping.
