School Sport Victoria has launched a new and improved website alongside a refreshed brand. Designed around the user experience, the new site makes it easier than ever to find sport information, upcoming events, Team Vic registrations, award nominations and more — on any device.
The new website has been built around enhancing the user experience – whether this is teachers finding details of an upcoming interschool sport event for their school team, parents seeking to register their child for Team Vic, or those seeking to submit a nomination for an award – the improved navigation aims to support users to better access the information they are seeking.
“Putting the user at the centre of the website design and functionality has been an important focus – to improve usability and in being able to find the right information the first time” outlines Rayoni Nelson, School Sport Victoria CEO.
Most of our visitors are wanting to find details on a sport – so the new website navigation has been designed to find all the key information by sport – whether that’s searching for an upcoming interschool sport event or to register and find details on a Team Vic team – it's now all in one place for each of the sports on the School Sport Victoria program.
The home page connects users to current news, social media feeds, way finding for current campaigns and important links relevant for key user groups in the footer.
“We know that many users access the website on their mobile devices, so the new website provides for improved access and page layout in these formats.”
There are around 2.4 million page views of the School Sport Victoria website each year, it is an important source of information on School Sport Victoria’s programs, sports, events and opportunities for schools and students.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to improve links to our partners, including state sporting organisations, whether that be resources for teachers or links to community sport programs.”
The website also has improved accessibility, in line with the Victorian Government policy for accessible communications, as well as providing translation across a wide range of languages.
The new website also introduces the refreshed School Sport Victoria branding – featuring a new contemporary colour pallet, which is line with the Brand Vic style, and to reflect a strong and positive reflection of school sport in Victoria.
The new branding will be progressively rolled out, starting with our website and digital assets. The new branding will also be reflected across Team Vic and the Victorian Teachers’ Games in time.
These important initiatives aligns with priorities within School Sport Victoria’s Strategic Directions Priorities for 2026-2030, including providing accessible information that is relevant and timely for schools.
“With refreshed strategic priorities, website and brand, we’re looking to provide a positive school sport experience for schools, students, as well as parents, teachers and partners into the future.”
