A wrap-up of the recent School Sport Victoria (SSV) Region Forums tour across Victoria. Highlights include strategic planning for the 2027 interschool sport program, face-to-face community connections, and website management training for over 90 local SSV Coordinators across six regional locations.

Throughout August, the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Interschool Sport team delivered six region forums across Victoria—involving sessions in Bendigo (Loddon Mallee), Coburg (Secondary & Primary Metro), Ballarat (Greater Western), Traralgon (Gippsland) and Wangaratta (Hume).

These interactive forums brought together our statewide network of SSV Coordinators to forward plan for the 2027 interschool sport program and foster strong, collaborative connections across SSV’s eight school sport regions.

Empowering Our SSV Coordinators

SSV Coordinators are vital to the delivery of interschool sport, from local through to regional level events. They include dedicated teachers and local leaders, who coordinator fixtures, manage venues, and ensure thousands of students across the state get to experience the joy of interschool sport every term.

During this year's regional forum tour, the SSV team successfully trained over 90 SSV Coordinators on updating and managing website content. This hands-on training aims to ensure that parents and teachers have seamless access to up-to-date interschool sport event information throughout the school year.

Moving Forward Together

Connecting face-to-face with SSV Coordinators is an important highlight of the year. The forums shared positive energy, dedication, and collaborative spirit by SSV Coordinators across the state.

While this year's region forums have drawn to a close, the strong relationships built and the strategic planning achieved, allows the interschool sport program to continue to thrive.
