The famous quote by Benjamin Franklin, “through adversity comes opportunity” is a mantra the SSV team have adopted this year which has included the introduction of a ‘Friday Friends’ weekly session with industry experts.

This has been a wonderful professional development opportunity for the SSV team whilst providing a platform to share the important work we do in providing school sport opportunities for Victorian students. Importantly, there’s been practical ideas we’ve already employed whilst the sessions have also provided partnership opportunities SSV is continuing to explore.

The sessions have covered a range of topics including but not limited to strategy, governance, sports equity and inclusion, play and participation, facility planning, event management, marketing, sports business and digital media to name but a few. 

SSV would like to acknowledge and thank our Friday Friends guests. We look forward to continuing with these invaluable sessions in some format in 2021.
