VICTORIAN TEACHERS' GAMES 2017 WRAPS UP

Ballarat was a great location for the Victorian Teachers' Games. 

40 events, over 2500 competitors, and approximately 890 medals awarded has meant this years VTG is our biggest yet.

VTG 2018 will be held in Ballarat 23-26 September.

Getting amongst the competitors on a daily basis meant that we were able to find competitors with admirable sporting achievements.

 

Terence Constantinou​ (Alkira Secondary College) has represented Greece the last few years as they've tried to qualify for the upcoming World Cup. He's also representing an Australian combined affiliated states side who will play England later this month as a warm up for their campaign.

Veronica Butterfield (Coral Park Primary School) has a great tip if you want to learn how to play Lawn Bowls. Actually this tip will work for any sport.

Olivia Bontempelli (Whittlesea Secondary College) has represented Australia in the Youth Olympic Games in Basketball. Olivia is also the sister of Markus Bontempelli.

Jackie Di Siervi (Oakleigh South Primary School) has recently returned from Japan where she represented Australia in the sport of Softball. Jackie is also a member of Team Vic Alumni, as well as a Team Vic Softball Coach.

Eleni Glouftsis (St Bernard's College) is the first female to be selected for the AFL Umpires Squad.

Sebastian Barr (Elwood College) has represented Australia 5 times for Ultimate Frisbee.

Lee Wonnacott (Aspendale Gardens Primary School) has represented Australia in the game of Baseball. Listen to the interview to hear about his dad's influence.

Ainsley Smith (Truganina College) has represented Australia for Ultimate Frisbee.

Lachlan Macdonald (Ruskin Park Primary School) has represented Australia 5 times for Ultimate Frisbee.

Tony Castrignano (Ruskin Park Primary School) has represented Australia for Ultimate Frisbee.

Teresa Dixon (Lavalla Catholic College) has represented Australia in Volleyball. 

Liesl Woods (Strathcona Baptist Girls Grammar) is heading over to Barcalona to represent Australia in the Futsol World Cup.
