Team Vic 12 years and under Cricket teams took part in a very hot and challenging School Sport Australia Championship in Barooga, NSW and surrounding towns in early January 2018.
The 12 years and under Girls team had a great week, taking out the Bronze medal in a convincing win over South Australia (SA) in the 3rd vs 4th playoff game. This was despite losing to SA earlier in the week during the round matches. The 12 years and under Boys didn't come home with the result they had hoped for, finishing eighth. The disappointment has been downed out by the amazing opportunity given to the boys team to play a day/night match against NSW at the Barooga No.1 ground. This particular game soon became a highlight of the Championships and a treasured memory the boys would remember for years to come.
The education excursion was a much welcomed opportunity to not only learn about the history of the Murray River, but to down tools and escape competing in the heat for a day.
